What does morning sickness feel like, and how early did it start for you?

I know it makes you nauseous, but does it feel like the flu? Like indigestion? Like gas pains? And how early does it start? We’ve been trying for awhile and I’m a few days away from when my period is supposed to start. Is that too early to have morning sickness? Because I woke up at 5 with stomach pains and couldn’t go back to sleep and haven’t been able to eat anything yet.

Just a note, you may not experience morning sickness at all. I have three kids (2 girls and one boy) and never experienced it.

Some people have it some dont, depends on the pregnancy. Morning sickness can also happen any time of the day. You just feel sick to your stomach. Dry crackers help.

Stomach pains usually are not the same as morning sickness. I have a good friend who is a practicing OB and he swears that some women know the day they are pregnant. He says that for some their system is so sensitive they just know. For me, mine comes later, usually in the 6 – 12 week range. My best friend though starts feeling hers at 3-4 weeks, about how far along you would be. Good Luck!

For me, it started around the age of 15 when I realized that every morning I wake, I would be in the presense of humans, lol!

I’m 14 weeks pregnant with my first and I started with morning sickness about 2 weeks after conception and it continued all the way through the 12th week. For me it was a constant state of nausea and mild to severe vomitting on most days. I slept a lot and didn’t really leave the house much. I think I lost roughly 14 pounds by the 12th week. Good luck!

i regret that i cannot speak from experience as i never had it with both kids. tho i hear that it can be hell as everything you eat may just go right back out. i don’t even know why they call it morning sickness since it can happen at any time during the day.

uhg! For me it felt like death. it kind of feels like you hav’nt ate in a week, your stomach feels beyond empty, for me it was almost constant and always on the verge of vomiting. Not everybody gets it though so hopefully you don’t because I coud’nt do anything, did’nt fell like leaving the house for 5 months.

I was lucky enough to have them. They can range from constant nauseau and vomiting, to just having an upset stomach or bad taste in your mouth all day.

My sister in law spent days in the bathroom her entire trimester.

I don’t know how early it starts, but you may find that smells will trigger the vomiting. She couldn’t take the smell of coffee and couldn’t stand the sight of eggs.

If you do find this is morning sickness, get yourself ginger tea and look in healthfood stores or online for ginger candy/lollipops. Ginger is about the only thing that’s going to help!

Honey, you will know morning sickness when you get it. It will never be mistaken for anything else. Trust me. I found out I was pregnant at my 4th week and then next day I was nauseous until now at my 8th week. I lost 3 lbs already because i can’t eat because my appetite is diminished. Headaches, nausea, gas, mood swings, decreased appetite, laziness, and fatigue all rolled up in one. Even washing your own body is a job. lol. Good luck.

All of my morning sickness started before I knew that I was pregnant. With my first, I started feeling really sick about two weeks before I took the test-a full week before my missed my period. At first, I was terrified because I thought there is no way I can spend the next few months curled up on the couch ready to hurl all the time. But, with me, it gets better after the first few weeks and goes away totally by the 16th week. I feel queesy-like I just rode a roller coaster after eating a hot dog-and I’m very tired and either too hot or too cold. I try to take a bath every day (making sure I keep my arms and legs out to control my body temperature) and that really helps. I also get back pain and I like to use a portable heater to blast my back with hot air while I’ve got the a/c cranked up. Not very energy efficent but when I’m that sick I feel entitled to a little overspending. I ate dill pickles and green olives for ten weeks during my first and dropped twenty pounds almost right away (I had a little extra I could part with so it wasn’t a really big deal). Just keep in mind that it WILL end someday and that your baby will take everything it needs from your body before you use it for yourself-so if you feel like crap be assured that s/he is quite comfortable even when you’re not!

I had morning sickness my entire pregnancy, which because of vomiting all the time, I lost 25 lbs and had to be put on a feeding tube and carry a bag of liguid around with me till they removed it at 37 weeks. Have you ever had anesthesia? It feels kind of like that. You feel dizzy, and your stomache just rebels. Foods and smells make it worse. Its like having the flu but without the fever, aches and chills. The stomache pains could be from lack of food, and vomiting. It makes your tummy ache if you throw up too much. Hope you feel better. Most people start to feel better around 12 weeks.

One minute you are minding your own business and literally the next minute you are throwing up. It’s like being seasick all the time. More like motion sickness.

My midwives both told me that it’s a great sign. Women who have m/s are less likely to have a miscarriage.

So when you are bowing before the porcelain god for the 23rd time in a day, just remember, “it’s a good thing.”

I thought that I had a stomach virus. I was 9 weeks when I found out so I guess the sickness started around 7-8 weeks.

you will burp and tummy bulge due to flatulence. food doesn’t taste as good and they don’t digest as well as before. you will experience weird tummy ache, headaches, nausea but can’t vomit anything out, and fatigue at all the odd timings. all these you could experience them as early as 2 weeks of pregnancy. and yes, your ******* sore and you will feel they are heavier. suddenly your are more voluptous!

You first start off with feeling unsually tired, then you can feel sick to your tummy.Yes it could feel like a tummy flu, but it depends on the person. Some cant stand certain smells and want to throw up right away, others just feel a bit sick to the stomach, then ive known a few friends that couldnt even get out of bed because they were so sick. This is usually one of the first signs that your pragnant, usually starts as early as your missed period. Another thing i should add is that you dont necessarily feel sick in the morning either, it can happen at night too, i had what i call* night sickness* with my second pragnancy. If you find that you have morning sickness, try some peppermint tea, it eases the nausea. Take care, and best wishes!
