How to cure morning sickness is the main question a lot of pregnant women are asking, especially if the vomiting is excessive and the pregnant woman can’t take fluid or water without vomiting. They may have hyperemesis gravidarum. Although this is not common (around 1% of pregnant women suffer with it), it can be quite dangerous. It can cause dehydration. This condition does appear to occur more with pregnant women who are having their first baby (it can still occur in women who have other children). A woman who is unlucky enough to experience morning sickness, but the condition to this extent can end up in hospitalization due to the dehydration. In the hospital the woman will be put on a drip to combat the dehydration.
It is important to recognise the symptoms that could indicate dehydration. They are feeling dizzy, a constant thirst, darker urine, not passing urine or a small amount. If the woman thinks she may be dehydrated it is vital to see a doctor or midwife, as they can easily test this for you.
Hyperemesis gravidarum can be extremely hard to deal with, it can totally take over the woman’s life making her tearful and depressed. It can put women off having any more children, they are unable to consider going through the illness again.
It is important that the woman gets as much rest as possible, takes in as much fluid as the sickness will allow. Having water luke warm instead of cold will be easier to keep down, sip little and often.
