Morning Sickness FAQs Add comments

I’m nearly 6 weeks pregnant and suffering 24/7!!! I’ve followed advice of eating little and often, also what food types are best. This doesn’t seem to help as acid indigestion just kicks in and taking rennie to cure this makes me throw up also lol. Any suggestions??

Welcome to pregnancy. I don’t know what to tell you because I suffered from morning sickness until my 15th week. I lost 13 pounds from not being able to keep anything down.

Find something that works for you, and just eat that until you get sick of it. (For me, it was green apples)

Nothing will get rid of morning sickness… it typically starts at week 6 and will hang out with you till sometime between week 15 – 19.

There are a few pills your DR can prescribe, the best on is Zolfran.

Or you can try the BRAT diet:

    Bananas
    Rice
Apples (no skin, the skin will make you sick)
    Toast (dry or unsalted crackers)

Also drink plenty of fluids: Water, 100% Juice or Gatorade or you’ll end up in the hospital for dehydration contractions.

Good luck the 24/7 morning sickness is the worst… odds are, you’re having a girl.

I know that morning sickness can be so bothersome. Before getting up from bed, try eating soda crackers. And small frequent meals are also the way to go. Just keep on doing that along with avoiding your food triggers. Make a conscious effort in staying hydrated. You may also try having ginger teas, or having the BRATT diet – bananas, rice applesauce, toast and tea. These have been found to reduce intestinal contractions thereby controlling vomiting. It may also help if you take your prenatal vitamins late in the day. I wish you all the best!
