I had morning sickness with my second, with my first I was very very sleepy and tired and didnt want to eat much. I think morning sickness might be caused by hormones.

Yes, and my second one, too! I lost about 4kg in my first, and 5kg in my second. It was worsened by certain foods/smells and anything associated with motion sickness (driving on winding roads, boat rides). It’s said to be due to the hormones in the body during pregnancy, esp. HCG. It is also worse if a person is dehydrated. There are some people who never have any morning sickness (which, btw can last all day), and others who experience it the whole 9 months. Most common in the first trimester.

Mine was awful. It started at 2 months and did not end until the day i had my son at 35 weeks.
I would throw up morning, noon and night & all in between.
I had it so bad to where nothing would help me not even phenergan. I was so happy when i had my son. I haven’t threw up since and that was six years ago.

I didn’t have morning sickness really. I was a little ill in the evening (which is still classified as “morning sickness”). I have been told that you may have it with one pregnancy and not the next. A very good book is What to Expect When You’re Expecting , also, Conception, Pregnancy, and Birth. I lived with these two books for nine months. Good Luck, It’s worth it 100%

My experience was first of all I thought was a state of mind!! Boy did I ever find out different. I’ve had three successful pregnancies. My first was miserable for the first three month, second put me in the hospital with dehydration and weight loss. The third was a piece of cake very little nausea or queasiness.

My doctor once told me that morning sickness equates to a healthy pregnancy. Hormones were working and it was that the estrogen was too high that brought on the sickness. Of the miscarriages I’ve known about it was true that they had not experienced any morning sickness. Not in all cases but just the ones I knew about.

My mom had six children and said it varied with each one. My four sisters(total of 12 pregnancies)all experienced mild morning sickness with each baby.

My first pregnancy I only got two days worth and I think that was more psychological then anything else. My second pregnancy I had it for 12 weeks straight. My friend had it with her first pregnancy really bad for most of the pregnancy and her second one is going just fine no morning sickness at all. I don’t think it has to do with whether or not it is your first pregnancy but the amount of hormones going around your body.

I had really bad morning sickness from 3 months. The day i gave birth it stopped. I couldnt eat anything except crackers and lolly snakes. I lost 20kgs. Not pleasant but I never even think about it now as i got my miracle son from it.

I had morning sickness throughout the first 6 months of my first pregnancy. It was pretty bad. I was nauseous quite a bit. I threw up, but not that often. I am now on my second pregnancy (19 wks) and still get nauseous but (thank goodness) have only thrown up once! And sorry to say, I am not sure why, exactly, we get it.
I do have to add a comment here, though. I think that perhaps more women who have had morning sickness are going to answer this question than those who have not – possibly skewing your poll. If you haven’t experienced morning sickness, you might not even “click” on this question because it doesn’t relate to you. Just trying to account for any possible inaccuracies in your data search.
